ANGLER's LIBRARY COLLECTION
PIER FISHING IN CALIFORNIA, by Ken Jones. A superb primer. Even if you never set foot on a pier, this is an excellent source book for gear, tackle, bait, and fishing in the Golden State. The back selection on fish species alone is worth the price many times over.
FISHING IN NORTHERN CALIFORNIA, by Ken Albert. Good for anglers new to the California experience. Lots of handy information especially for freshwater fishing and places.
CALIFORNIA FISHING, by Tom Stienstra. Great guidebook for freshwater and saltwater fishing spots.
PACIFIC COAST FISHES, by William Eschmeyer and Earl S. Herald. A Peterson Field Guide. It's always a good idea to know what it is you've caught. And who knows, you might even discover a new species and have it named after you--just like Mr. A.C. Jackson of San Francisco, immortalized in the black perch, embiotica jacksoni.
PACIFIC COAST, by Bayard and Evelyn McConnaughey. An Audubon Society guide. For those who believe knowledge is power. An amazing book.
FISHERMAN'S OCEAN, by David A. Ross.
Incredible writing by a marine biologist who fishes. (Thanks to Scott
