THE WEEKLY SHORELINER'S REPORT
Summary:
If the winds behave and the weather holds, the tides look very good at
least until Tuesday.
STRIPED BASS: It's August. Par for the course. You can fins stripers if you work for them and keep mobile but it can mean long hours and lots of frustration within the bays. Might as well work the beaches with swimbaits and poppers. There are some nice fish from the less crowded sandy stretches just north of Pescadero.
STURGEON:
Napa River and Montezuma Slough, but very slow.
PERCH: Low tides discouraged most anglers from the shore in the East Bay this past week. And it was only slightly better on the other side and along both towers of the gate. Outside, there are still some good prospects for barred and redtail on grubs, striped perch on baits, and walleye on everything.
MISCELLANEOUS SPECIES: Pretty languid results for just about everything. But if you want bat rays, work the back coves and throw out smelly anchovies.
