THE WEEKLY SHORELINER'S REPORT
http://www.songslinger.net/fishing.html

Summary:  Rockfish angling is the best prospect for shoreliners this week.   Find outcroppings, reefs, and jetties.

STRIPED BASS:  No point is working the bays until it gets really warm in the evening with the wind down.  Best bets are all south of Ocean beach.  Follow the crowds or bait.

STURGEON:  Nothing buzzing in local circles.

PERCH: Bay fishing has yet to pick up now that the restrictions have been lifted.   Best shots are the Emeryville and Berkeley rocks in the morning before the wind comes up, with pile worms for some nice black perch. Across the way, Sausalito and Fort Baker will have striped perch and  pile perch.   The surf has barred, redtail, and walleyed either south of Pacifica or north of Fort Cronkhite.  Wind is less of a problem so the fishing is better in late afternoon the rising tide.

MISCELLANEOUS SPECIES: Salmon are in Benicia.  Usual suspects, usual methods.   Blue Fox or Flying C in #5, chartreuse skirt, either at 1st Street or the State Park. A few caught daily. Sharks and rays are out a nd about but you will have to hit the shipping channels at night to find any big guys.   Jacksmelt are sparse; so are kingfish.  Halibut are holding deep in the Angel Island/Alcatraz realm, though there is an unsubstantiated rumor of them on Berkeley Pier.   Rockfish are in good supply in Pescadero and topical habitats up and down the coast.  Squid strips for rockies and eels, whole squid or anchovies for the lings.  Cabezon will take crabs and pile worms.
